Project Manager - Facilities

As Project Manager with our Operations and Facilities Practice Team, the individual will be expected to provide subject matter expertise in PSAP facilities and the assessment, specification, and design of Public Safety 9-1-1 technologies for new or renovated facilities. POSITION LOCATION
Driving distance to the North Carolina and South Carolina is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (potentially including boosters) is an essential requirement of this role. MCP will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance where required, subject to approved medical or religious exemptions
  • Capable to manage large-scale projects. Act as the subject matter expert focused on public safety communications and operations. Assure quality of project deliverables and client satisfaction
  • Exposure in the implementation of public safety mission critical facilities
  • Lead diverse project teams, manage and coordinate work activity.  Lead regularly scheduled project huddles and meetings, including kick-off and close-out. Provide leadership and energy necessary to motivate staff and achieve goals

EXPECTATIONS
  • Lead relationships with public safety clients and architects for facility and operational assessments, procurement and implementation
  • Perform onsite surveys of existing systems and organizations with an emphasis on data-gathering and potential system improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies
  • Develop and write detailed project scope statements (PSS) and work breakdown schedules (WBS). Support negotiation with clients to adjust and amend scope of services, procurement and budgets
  •  Develop project scope, roles, responsibilities, pricing and detailed implementation plans related to facility projects and associated technology integration
  • Establish a project plan and schedule between clients, company technical and project teams. Oversee and coordinate the planning, resources, and direction of work activity and deliverables
  • Coordinate with our business development staff to develop ongoing programs, and proposal statements of work for additional services

BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred
  • Project management expertise is preferred with proven problem solving capabilities and experience that includes budgetary responsibilities
  • Experience working with architects on new construction or renovation of facilities
  • Successful track record with public safety operations and program administration of both government projects and multi-county regional programs interfacing with local governments and voluntary boards
  • Exemplary communications, both oral and written.  Writing for proposals, presentations, and technical reports. Exceptional listener. Understanding client goals and how they measure success. Technical writing focused on public safety telecommunications and technology; specifically, regulatory, policy, white papers, and client education
  • Ability to assess client situations. Identify needs, present concepts, develop specifications and recommendations, and deliver solutions
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local agency activities related to 9-1-1
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to client sites and MCP regional office locations
