Accounting Assistant

We have an opportunity for a full-time Accounting Assistant to be part of the Support Team at our State College headquarters. The individual will be expected to assist the Accounting Manager with accounting functions and financial controls.   • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
  • Prepare and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting records
  • Process accounts payable including coding and payments to vendors and employees
  • Assist with bi-weekly payrolls and any related filings with ADP
  • Support billing process and process accounts receivable payments
  • Assist with annual budgets, financial reports, and special projects
  • Create and maintain documentation of accounting processes
  • Team Player who can excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to employment. Please be aware full COVID-19 vaccination (potentially including boosters) is an essential requirement of this role.  MCP will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance where required, subject to approved medical or religious exemptions.
  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or similar ERP system, preferred
  • General working knowledge of payroll processing with ADP or similar payroll systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel knowledge
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work required hours to meet client, company and project needs
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to client locations and other MCP offices
