Senior Systems Administrator

OVERVIEW
Mission Critical Partners (MCP) has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Administrator. This position provides technical leadership and administration for Microsoft 365 services and variety of web-based applications used by MCP’s national staff of nearly 200 users. This is inclusive of but not limited to Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, domain policies, Egnyte.com, and many others. It covers ensuring service requests and incidents are appropriately executed and the live service environment is correctly operating. This position will also lead on all IT projects and work with team members to implement and maintain new features and systems. EXPECTATIONS
Strategy and Planning
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals and to identify and resolve systems issues

Acquisition and Deployment
  • Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services

Operational Management
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide
    insight to management and internal teams
  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Ensure system connectivity for all servers, applications, communication systems, and other applications
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
  • Provide guidance and leadership to other members of the IT team
  • Good project management skills

BASIC REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 to 10 years of System Network Engineering experience or 8+ years related experience
  • Desired certifications:
    • Microsoft 365 Administrator, MCSA, MCSE
    • CompTIA Network+ / Security +
  • Experience with PSA and ticketing system and RMM tools
  • Expert in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows 10 Pro
  • Expert in Microsoft Azure AD/Office 365 management
  • Proven experience with VMware and Microsoft virtualization technologies
  • Design and setup of IP networks, VPNs, remote access
  • Support of multiple technology environments including troubleshooting remote worker issues
  • Configure and troubleshoot switches, firewalls, and routers
  • Assist with setup and install of user equipment (workstations/servers/laptops/WIFI)
  • Fully document app procedures and tasks, create documentation for IT and user specific processes
  • Resolve assigned and escalated support request tickets
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be a resource for escalated urgent issues
  • Other relevant technological duties as assigned
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Occasional travel to MCP offices
  • Ability to work alternate hours to support staff members in multiple zones
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and position self to install and maintain equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to our client sites and regional offices as required
