Junior Platform & Systems Administrator

OVERVIEW
The Junior Platform & System Administrator (JPSA) will be responsible for maintaining systems, monitoring alerts, and supporting virtualization, cloud, and Windows technologies. The JPSA will be responsible for engineering and leading the execution and maintenance of systems including cloud-based remote management and monitoring tools, ConnectWise ticketing, and project management tools in addition to assisting with corporate Office 365 support and projects, resolving tier 2 and tier 3 service requests, and implementing cybersecurity and network best practices. EXPECTATIONS
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network monitoring systems, managed-services technology stack, and corporate IT environment
  • Install and upgrade software, manage application integrations, and maintain cybersecurity best practices throughout
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to staff for planning and implementing new platform upgrades or utilizing new features
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and fail-over procedures
  • Respond to and support requests for all service platform systems, client-access and dashboards, and related issues in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining capacity, licensing, and vendor/partner support

BASIC REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3 to 5 years of network administration or system administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, plus scripting and automation tools
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing help desk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ConnectWise ticketing preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to our client sites and regional offices as required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and position self to install and maintain equipment
