Business Analyst - Data Integration Services

Mission Critical Partners has a career opportunity for a self-motivated individual looking to establish a career with a fast-paced rapidly growing company. As a Business Analyst with our Data Integration Solutions Team, the individual will work full-time with the team that works out of our Denver, CO office. Remote work arrangements are considered, though there will be an expectation to collaborate onsite with your developer teammates as public health conditions allow, and as the work requires.  The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
Expectations
  • Interact with both our developers, and our clients’ line-of-business experts. That is, court clerks, paralegals, police officers and supervisors, prosecutors and their support staff and others who hold the knowledge of the business and data-exchange processes we aim to transform with technology
  • Work with clients to discover, diagram and document existing business processes. Identify opportunities to improve processes through automated data integration across systems and design diagrams that illustrate to-be business processes
  • Work with clients’ subject-matter experts and database professionals to create data models that describe data to be exchanged between systems
  • Work with clients to gather, document, and present business and technical requirements
  • Ability to quickly grasp the processes, systems and information across the public safety and criminal justice ecosystem
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Gather and document critical information from meetings with various stakeholders
  • Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood
Basic Requirements, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years relevant work experience to include Unified Modeling Language (UML) concepts and tools.  Such as Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and Component Diagrams
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in providing technical services to criminal justice clients, or exhibit and ability to quickly grasp the processes, systems and information across the public safety and criminal justice ecosystem
  • Demonstrated background working with XML Schema and ability to design new XML schema, given a Class Diagram of the data to be included
  • Demonstrated skills with JSON, preferably JSON LD. Ability to design new JSON schemas, given a Class Diagram of the data to be included
  • Business process mapping. Preferably trained in Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN)
  • Interpersonal skills to interact directly with clients, primarily criminal justice professionals. We work with professionals whose daily duties involve court case processing, law enforcement activities and other justice-related processes
  • Conversant with UML diagramming tools, such as Visual Paradigm. Related UML specific tools acceptable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Project
  • Basic understanding of Project Management concepts. PMI certification is a plus, but not required
  • Exemplary listening, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.  Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • Candidates will be required to illustrate successful experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • When public health conditions permit, travel (25% - 50%) to client sites to interact in person with the above subject-matter experts
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive to the client site
