Human Resources Coordinator

Remote within Pennsylvania, if not local to State College, PA · Human Resources
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position based at our State College headquarters or remotely within Pennsylvania.  The HR Coordinator will support a wide variety of HR functions and serve as the first point of contact for HR inquires.  The role will support all HR functions including but not limited to, leading new hire onboarding and orientation, involvement in benefits administration, training, performance management, compliance, recruitment, and general administrative support.  This position requires attention to detail and a team-oriented, professional committed to leading self and success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
  • Lead the scheduling and organization of new staff onboarding and orientation
  • Assist with benefit administration and open enrollment
  • Prepare, maintain and audit staff member files ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of staff training
  • Maintain staff members’ performance review schedule and execute monthly tasks related to performance management
  • Assist in the compliance of multi-state and federal laws and regulations
  • Assist with recruitment efforts to include sourcing, scheduling meetings and interviews
  • Responsible for execution of background investigations and reference checks on pending candidates
  • As necessary, schedule travel and lodging accommodations for candidate interviews and new staff member orientation
  • Maintain HR database by entering, updating and maintaining HR and payroll data
  • Promote staff member relations, answer questions and provide outstanding customer service in all forms of communication with job applicants, office-based and remote staff members, and members of our leadership team
  • Perform general administrative functions including scheduling meetings, making photocopies, faxing documents, preparing correspondence, processing mail, and performing other clerical duties as assigned
Basic Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills LS
  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or a related field.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred (an appropriate combination of education and relevant experience will be considered)
  • 4 years background in supporting HR initiatives with demonstrated understanding and proficiency in onboarding and orientation, employment law compliance, recruitment, confidentiality, and other standard concepts and practices of HR
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and virtual meeting platforms
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, excellent organizational and communications and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities
  • Self-motivated and ability to lead self
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to regional offices as required
  • If a remote candidate is selected, the individual will be required to travel to the State College corporate headquarters as needed
