IT Systems Technician - Computer Aided Dispatch

We have an opportunity for a Systems Technician to support the work of our Managed Services Division at Mission Critical Partners, LLC (MCP).  The individual will be expected to provide expertise in the implementation and support of our internal and external client information technology (IT) services.  The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
Expectations
  • Work with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS) vendor teams to provide onsite support, remote support, workstation installs, prepare and participate with upgrades.  Represent the client with CAD/RMS vendor support/implementation team meetings
  • Support managed services team engagements.  Configure, install, and manage various Windows Server and Active Directory deployments
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of network equipment
  • Participate in the development of reports, analyses, and team presentations
  • Perform surveys of existing client systems with an emphasis on data-gathering and potential system improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies
  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with peers – exhibit a positive attitude, exchanging ideas, concepts, and processes that create a strong team approach to problem-solving and client solutions
 
Basic Requirements, Knowledge and Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience with enterprise IT systems
  • 3-5 years’ experience with public safety Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS)
  • Associates or Technical Degree
  • Previous experience with Public Safety Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) is desired
  • Technically savvy with network component technologies
  • Proven experience working with Windows-based end systems and application hosts to include troubleshooting Windows application hosted issues
  • Proven experience working with virtualized application hosting environments
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, identify, assess, and diagnose problems related to network hardware and software and to find effective solutions
  • Versatile and skilled in the assessment, specification, and implementation of enterprise IT (application and server), network migration, and operations
  • Development of operational standards and best practices that apply to IT
  • Experience and knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy implementation
  • Experience with ConnectWise applications is highly desired
  • Travel up to 50% in some cases, with an estimated 30% average travel required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and bend/crawl/maneuver around confined spaces
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive to MCP regional offices and client sites
  • Along with MCP’s background screening, the selected individual will be required to successfully complete a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) identity history summary check to include fingerprinting
