Technology Specialist - Public Safety Radio and Wireless Communications

Location: Various Locations, Nationwide
We are seeking an individual to join our growing Radio and Wireless Practice.  The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
Expectations
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise with design for land mobile radio (LMR) and wireless systems for two-way and multi-point systems
  • Assess current conditions and provide analysis of client needs
  • Make recommendations and design specifications for dispatch and remote communications facilities and LMR networks including P25, conventional and trunked radio, and paging systems
  • Prepare written reports with the options and recommendations specific to meet client requirements
  • Develop detailed and accurate technical plans, correspondence and reports. Calculate project cost estimates and set schedules
  • Conduct RF engineering propagation and interference studies
  • Research and prepare FAA studies for tower sites and FCC license applications for LMR and microwave
  • Share technical expertise in the consideration of equipment and systems needs/requirements
  • Deliver hands-on assistance involving troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, check frequencies and solve interference problems
Basic Requirements, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or 10 years equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years background in the technical design of Public Safety Wireless, Broadband, and Land Mobile Radio communications systems – digital and analog
  • Strong background with wireless broadband, P25, LTE, propagation studies, grounding, and site construction (preferably for Public and Life Safety)
  • Must have a detailed understanding of microwave and recommend new solutions, approaches, and procedures for our client’s use of their systems
  • In-depth expertise of industry technical standards, requirements, and specifications.  Familiarity with a variety of the field concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal two-way radio regulations
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to our client sites and regional offices
