Communications Consultant - Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)

Location: Philadelphia/Southeastern PA, PA
We are seeking an individual who will provide operational consulting services focused in Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) technologies. The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success and who exemplifies our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
Expectations
  • Consult with clients, focused in Public Safety CAD systems design
  • Develop technical scope, roles, responsibilities and detailed implementation and management plans
  • Coordinate project resources and deliverables. Assist with establishing a project plan and schedule between clients, stakeholders, vendors and company technical/project personnel using structured methodologies
  • Provide oversight of operational changes, technology implementation and testing, and acceptance of all systems
  • Perform onsite surveys of existing systems and organizations with an emphasis on data-gathering, documentation and recommendations on potential system improvement, cost reduction, staffing, and operational efficiencies
  • Support negotiations with clients and vendors to adjust and amend scope of services, procurement and budgets to fulfill project requirements
  • Support strategic planning and identify long-term operational goals for client organizations
  • Assure the quality of project deliverables, including technical standards, client QA/QC procedures, and close-out. Deliver projects within client budget guidelines
  • Write technical reports; present findings and options to clients
 
Basic Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills
  • 5 years successful and documented work experience in the assessment, design, consultation and implementation of CAD systems and operations technologies for public safety and/or mission critical systems
  • Experience with other 9-1-1 technologies and systems to include Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and Land Mobile Radio (LMR)
  • Proven problem solving and project leadership capabilities for public safety operations services
  • Ability to present complicated concepts in an understandable way to governmental boards and persons while creating trusted relationships with all stakeholders
  • Associate’s Degree in Telecommunications, Public Safety, or related field preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to client sites and MCP regional office locations
