Technical Consultant - Land Mobile Radio, Wireless, and Broadband Communications

Location: Philadelphia/Southeastern PA, PA
We are seeking a technical and self-motivated individual looking to establish a career with a fast-paced consulting organization. The role within our Radio and Wireless Practice Team requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
Expectations
  • Develop, review, evaluate, and provide recommendations for:
    • P25 Standards for Digital Radio
    • Interoperable Public Safety Broadband Network
    • Policy and Regulatory Analysis
  • Manage radio systems and wireless broadband implementations and assist with overall project management
  • Execute Radio/Wireless consulting tasks requiring knowledge and application of industry technical standards, uniform techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Perform onsite surveys of existing systems and organizations with an emphasis on data-gathering and potential system improvement
  • Prepare technical reports; present findings and make recommendations to clients
  • Review the design for radio systems and wireless broadband network architecture
  • Assist with the specifications and design of radio systems including dispatch and remote communications facilities
  • Develop and/or write applicable Statement of Work (SOW) sections
  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with peers—exchanging ideas, concepts, and processes that create a strong team approach to problem-solving and client solutions
 
Basic Requirements, Knowledge and Skills
  • 3 - 5 years successful experience working within a consultancy and services oriented environment for mission critical systems
  • 5 - 7 years background with public safety land mobile radio systems, wireless broadband, and P25 with an in-depth knowledge of industry technical standards, requirements, and specifications
  • Proven experience with overseeing coverage studies, site development, and backhaul solutions
  • Thorough understanding and use of PMI methodology and full life cycle implementation experience
  • Telecommunications analysis and planning for radio, broadband, and wireless focused in Public Safety
  • Ability to assess client situation, identify needs, develop recommendations and solutions
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the talent to write technical reports in understandable terms and technical formats
  • Strategic thinker and self-motivated with a positive attitude and passion for Public Safety
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to our client sites and regional offices
