Network Administrator - Public Safety Managed Services

Location: State College, PA
We have an opportunity for a Network Administrator to be a part of our Managed Services Team at our State College corporate headquarters.  The individual will be expected to provide expertise in the implementation and support of managed services for our internal and external clients.  The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.
 
 
Expectations
  • Support IT operations and managed services team engagements. Configure, install, and manage various network components and interfaces including Microsoft Server 2012 and SonicWALL network equipment at multiple office locations
  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking – ability to configure and implement in PTP VPN configuration
  • Participate in the development of reports, analyses, and project presentations
  • Configure and deploy laptops, IP phones and iPhones to new staff 
  • Assist staff with updates, technical and performance issues. Perform repairs, test and troubleshoot network equipment
  • Assure quality of deliverables and client satisfaction
  • Perform surveys of existing client systems with an emphasis on data-gathering and potential system improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies
  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with peers – exhibit a positive attitude, exchanging ideas, concepts, and processes that create a strong team approach to problem-solving and client solutions
  • Documentation of IT procedures and standards as developed and implemented
  • Manage Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and domain controllers in Microsoft Azure
  • Maintain Windows and Linux servers
  • Constantly position self to install and maintain computers and equipment, including under work stations and server locations. Frequently moves computers and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
 
 
Basic Requirements, Knowledge and Skills
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the administration and support of enterprise IT and telecommunication systems
  • Technically savvy with a deep understanding of Windows Server 2012R2, Exchange 2016, Active Directory and Group Policy, VMware, cloud computing, SANs, VoIP, routing, switching, and Office 365; with an emphasis on client relationship and support
  • Ability to conceptualize, identify, assess, and diagnose problems related to network hardware and software and to find effective solutions
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with ability to develop and present concepts and recommendations to clients
  • Versatile and skilled in the assessment, specification, and implementation of enterprise IT (application and server), network migration, and telecommunications (especially Voice over IP and iPhone) networks and operations
  • Development of operational standards and best practices that apply to IT and telecommunications
  • Knowledge of networking platforms such as ConnectWise, LabTech, Zendesk, NetBrain and Nagios
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and position self to install and maintain equipment
  • Cisco certifications strongly desired, but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to our client sites and regional offices as required
